Mistakes are made every day. Sometimes they can be made right, sometimes they can't. Sometimes it's his job to make them right, but whether or not it's his problem, justice is his responsibility. If only justice meant the same thing to everyone...

Right and wrong is pretty simple, and you always know it when you see it. Others might think you're self-righteous or quick to judge, but they don't have the moral compass that you do.

In the Facility

Memento Mori

Isle of Dread

A small square of battered paper, folded four times:

6 stay (1 dies), 19 go free
1: Guilt
2: Who can best survive staying?
3: Women out
4: Rich ones stay

Alien Mutation

A weighty Colonial Marshal's badge, slightly corroded, but still legible.

Fergus Castlereigh (Alien Mutation)

Junior Marshal
A junior marshal, a year and a half into his first 2-year post, the Noc bureau was his first posting out of the Colonial Marshals Academy. A generally well-liked and inoffensive sort, if a bit shy, he's still trying to balance a genuine desire to help people against the brutal necessity of sometimes violent maintaining of the status quo. The ideals of justice, weighed against the practical necessities of functioning in a world where Corporations, not laws have the real power.

Haku Oroiti (Isle of Dread)

Barroom legend

A native of the islands who has lived his entire life without leaving, apart from one trip to Hawaii in his youth, where- if stories are to be believed- he isn't welcome back. He tells stories of having done everything from biting a man's nose off, to snapping police handcuffs with a shrug, and headbutting a palm tree until it fell over. Some stories are repeated by other people, which makes them more true. He's here taking a break from the hard work of keeping his cousin's bar on the Big Island from floating away to make some money working security.

Tama "Tommy" Bell (Isle of Dread)

Looking at him, it would be easy to mistake Tommy for a native, but he's from Seattle. Born and raised on the mainland, generations ago his family had roots in the Pacific, but the only islands he'd ever been to as a kid were in the Puget Sound. His family wasn't wealthy, but they instilled in him a strong sense of right and wrong and duty to others. He went into the service out of high school, shortly after his dad passed, and was stationed in Hawaii and Korea over the following years, when he also lost his mom. Without any remaining ties to the mainland when his time in uniform was up, Tommy made made the Pacific Islands, including these, his home.

Tommy isn't a native, but he has become something of a local over the past several years. As such, he isn't impressed with the Wellsons - they're the same as every rich family he's ever known, thinking their money can buy anything they want. Like an island that's supposed to be sacred and off limits. Still, the natives can use the money, and Big Tommy is here to help Maata keep things cool.

Raymond Chong (Alien Mutation)

As deputy chief to Lydecker, you have a pretty good idea of how things really work on the Noc. The chief is basically in a fight with both hands tied behind his back - Penumbra wants safety and security, but they also want their wealthy tourists to have anything they want. Providing one while allowing for the other is a fairly impossible job. Break-ins of suites or residences get investigated with full cooperation, but one smuggler jacking another gets a brick wall. When it occasionally spills over into the tourist areas, it becomes a total clusterfuck. Lydecker gets a lot of shit from Dietchrich, Kinneson and Halloway, but the guy's doing what he can. Penumbra runs the station. If they want to make things difficult, they can do it fifty different ways without breaking a sweat. You've learned that the only way to do this job with any modicum of sanity is to pick your battles. What's really important?

Rev. Samuel Hargreave (Prosperity's Price)

Born the bastard son of Jack Hargreave and a Native woman, he was taken in by Reverend Levi DeWitt and raised as one of the church orphans. Levi had been more of a father to him than Jack could or will ever be, but when Jack saw his half-Indian son growing up to be a decent and respectable young man, he formally adopted him and gave him his last name. It makes the family look good, and eases a bit of Jack's conscience. The young man just accepts it for what it is: a troubled man trying to pay his debts.

He has no hate for his real father, but no more love for him than anyone else, either. He's gown up to be a kind and sympathetic man, judging not a person's heart, but their actions. Everyone deserves forgiveness and another chance if they truly want it. He's a preacher of the New Testament, of love, family and forgiveness, of trying to be better than our circumstances, but he's also a fierce defender of the peace and fights Evil with everything he has each Reaping.

It's still Levi's church, though he's mostly retired, but one day Levi will be gone and it will up to him to lead the flock.

Jimmy Leiataua (Slasher)

So Cal born and raised, Jimmy comes from a big family of big people. They've never forgotten their islander roots, and everyone pitches in and helps out, which has led to Jimmy being a trustworthy and reliable sort. He also has very little ego, making him a perfect fit for the offensive line where his job is to protect his quarterback and clear a path for the running backs. A team player. That's Jimmy to a T.

He's not dumb, though, and gets good grades as a History major. His thoughtful observations and contemplative nature surprise a lot of people who expect him to be a big, dumb, keg-guzzling frat douche. He's the one in the fraternity that rounds people up for charity events, that makes sure they're doing okay after a breakup, or sees if they need help with a class. He's very slow to anger, but quite protective.

Active Character: Slasher

You're dyin' and you're screamin' inside

Oh you're guilty way before you been tried

It's crazy but you're diggin' it

Aerosmith - Young Lust

Out of the Woods

Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you

I don't think that I can really survive

I'll never break my promise or forget my vow

But God only knows what I can do right now
