Always "professional" no matter the profession. Even in dire situations, there are things that people need and are willing to pay for. Some might call him cold, calculating and opportunistic. At some point, those same people will thank him for providing just the service that they so desperately need.

Archetype Roster Concept

Even in the darkest times, people have wants and needs. You're there to get it for them. It has a cost, of course, but that's how the world works. Any situation can be made profitable.

In the Facility

Facility Persona

The Capitalist tends to cling onto his most recent memories, taking on that persona's mannerism and personality. Then again, it very well may all be an act for him, taking the most beneficial parts from each of his roles.

He has one of those generic American accents as if he were a Brit pretending to be American.

Things That Linger

This is a list of traits that most incarnations of the Capitalist tend to possess:

  • Narcissistic
  • Usually quite charming to an extent
  • Penchant for coffee
  • Smokes when stressed (often, but not always)

The Capitalist's Door

A man in fine clothes counting coins in his hands, various wares stacked behind him.

The Capitalist's Room

A decidedly masculine room with dark grey walls and dark wood throughout. Think a luxury suite that mixes classical and modern design. The focal point of the room is the king-sized bed, two mattresses stacked on top of a raised platform, giving it some additional height. There's nothing frivolous when it comes to the sheets and pillows, not aesthetically anyway. Sure, the fabrics used are expensive and luxurious, but the colors and style are simple and muted.

One entire section of the room is devoted as a personal office, complete with an antique desk and chair. Several paintings in both classic and modern styles decorate the walls; the images often depicting opulence in some form.

A large walk-in closet is seen on the wall opposite the office. It's filled mostly with business suits of various colors and styles, though there's also more casual clothing to be found, even if they are designer and most likely cost a pretty penny. Right at the entrance of the closet and near the front door stands a tall mirror.

A separate door leads to a lavish bathroom. The walls, floors, and ceilings are covered in dark marble. The shower itself is situated in one corner, while a wall of frosted glass obscures the interior from view. A large jacuzzi tub can be found off to the side of the shower.

Memento Mori

Isle of Dread

Conrad Wellson's Watch - An Audemars Piguet luxury watch that is etched with 'C.W.' Conrad Wellson's initials. He used it to determine how much daylight they had left before nightfall when the monsters would come out of the shadows. While it looks brand new, it's no longer working. The time is eternally set to the hour, minute and second of when the security trailer exploded.

Alien Mutation

ANVIL Security Business Card - A clear plastic business card with the 'ANVIL' name printed in bold grey letters directly at its center. In smaller print, just below that is the title: PRESIDENT Beneath the title is the name: Rhys Driscoll, followed by contact information.

Prosperity's Price

Bride Wanted Advert and Correspondences with Miss Colette Winslow - In an envelope are a couple of letters sent back and forth between Colette Winslow and Cillian McTavish in regards to McTavish's post seeking out a young bride. McTavish's original advert was also included in this envelope, slipped in there from Winslow's first letter to the groom-to-be.

Wall Street Journal and Joshua Gray ID card - A copy of the Wall Street Journal he'd received on the second day of his stay at the lodge. Inside can be found an article on the bank heist, along with two photographs of Christian Price: One is a candid picture where he's dressed in a business suit and looks to be smiling or nearly laughing at a joke. The other is his image as a hostage over a surveillance camera. There is also a photograph of Price's parents and fiance, Vivian, speaking to the press to plead for his life.

Paper-clipped to the WSJ is a fake ID with photo for one Joshua Gray.

Madison or is it Anette now?

There was a time when the Capitalist tried to force her to believe that she was Madison, needing that sense of stability to Conrad Wellson's memories. The next time, the opposite happened and it was Madison who had to remind him of who he was and who he used to be.

Things are strange now, these mixtures of feelings and emotions he has for her. It may have been Cillian's McTavish memories, but it's as if he's loved her for a life time.

The Actress

Work in Progress

The one person who the Capitalist felt closest to until she vanished. He thinks about her from time to time, wondering where she found herself after this place.

Leo Wellington (Isle of Dread)

1% and Childhood Friend
Conrad and Leo first met when they were in the 5th grade in some stuffy all boy's school. With their last names being Wellson and Wellington respectively, they were seated together and became fast friends. Over the years, they'd choose the same classes knowing that they'd be placed together. Leo's grandfather was a powerful shipping magnate and the Wellington family just kept growing wealthier every year. Conrad was always jealous of Leo's status as heir and Golden Boy of the Wellington family, even if Leo, himself, wasn't very bright. He was an athlete and quarterback of their high school football team. That didn't mean that they didn't remain good friends. So with Conrad throwing this event of the year, Leo had to be there to support his bro.

Vanessa Templeton (Isle of Dread)

Intelligent Arm Candy
Vanessa Templeton is a wealthy socialite and aspiring actress who Conrad hooked up with at a party a week before the festival. She is beautiful, intelligent and incredibly charismatic. She didn't know Conrad for very long but was excited all the same to travel with him to a mysterious island for a good time. Sure, living in huts is totally weird, but Vanessa thinks it'll be fun to go all 'Native'. This could be the experience she needs for any movie script set in the jungle. Stephanie, Conrad's personal assistant, seems to have taken an immediate dislike towards her.

Stephanie Chambers (Isle of Dread)

Personal Assistant
Conrad's hardworking personal assistant who may or may not have a thing for him. She's very good at her job and keeps his appointments and paperwork organized.

Carl Hunt (Alien Mutation)

Security Operative
Hunt served as a Colonial Marine for a time before he was recruited by Rhys Driscoll with the promises of wealth. Working as Driscoll's right hand in his security team, Hunt is known for being a strong tactician and powerhouse.

Maria Silva (Alien Mutation)

Security Operative
Once a Colonial Marshal who specialized in violent crimes, you always felt that you had to struggle to gain respect because you were a woman. You were tired of the other Marshals calling you sweetheart or darling, or even worse, when they underestimated your prowess.

Rhys Driscoll, a former Marshal, himself, approached you personally with a job offer. You could really use the money promised and so far, Driscoll has only treated you with the respect that you are due.

Dan McCallister (Alien Mutation)

Security Operative
You've served in the military for many years and was only recently discharged due to suffering PTSD. They thought you would be a liability out in the field. Unlike many of the others, you heard about Anvil Security through a friend and instead of Rhys Driscoll recruiting you, personally, you decided to pay him a visit instead.

Driscoll was hesitant to take you on, at first, but was willing to put you through a probationary period, giving you this chance to prove yourself. With the amount of money at stake, you're gonna try your best now to blow this.

Colette Winslow (Prosperity's Price)

Mail-Order Bride/Displaced City Girl
The daughter of the upper Middle-Class Winslow family from Boston, after Colette's father died, her uncle made a power play and took control of the family for himself. It is rumored that her older brother's death, following their father's passing, was no accident. Knowing full well that she had to flee or else suffer at the hands of her manipulative uncle, Colette stowed away on a carriage headed to the West.

She was in a far away town with barely anything to her name. It was then that an ad had caught her eye. Even back in Boston, she had heard of the McTavish family from Prosperity, Nevada. Though she hated the idea of an arranged marriage, she was desperate for help as she had nowhere to turn.

Colette was on a new journey now, making her way to Prosperity. She only hopes that the man that she marries, Cillian McTavish, is kind and pure of heart, being as young and naive as she is.

Lady Luck.jpg

Lady Luck (Prosperity's Price)

Trusty Horse
This is the young mustang that Cillian McTavish purchased a few years back. Lady Luck was purchased for his speed and so far, he's not let his master down. Luck expects a good brushing every day, some time to graze and run, and good quality fruits and vegetables or else he can get surly.

Justin Tanner (Slasher)

Christian's Best Friend/Wheelman
Christian Price and Justin Tanner were best friends since childhood and were practically inseparable as the years went on. Tanner was more of an athlete, being part of their school's track team, while Price was the more ambitious of the pair in a professional sense. Still, both loved a good party and all the vices that came with them.

While Christian did well in his professional life, getting promoted to bank manager for one of the city's most prominent financial institutions, Tanner floated from job to job, using his good looks to seduce or swindle various sugar-mamas.

That's why when Christian was recruited to take part in this heist, the first person he brought on board was Justin Tanner. They were going to be rich! While not the sharpest tool in the shed, Justin was an athlete who wasn't a stranger to crime. The news that a Sorority would be hanging out at their chosen location to lay low at made the whole plan all the more enticing.

Vivian Monfort (Slasher)

Christian Price's fiancee. She forged his signature and took out a 5 million dollar life insurance plan for him. Vivian was 'devastated' after learning that he'd been taken hostage during the heist, but once news trickles in that he might be still alive at some lodge in the middle of Nowhere, Oregon, she set off to the Eager Beaver to make sure that she'll be able to collect.

Rian (Carnival)

Messenger Boy
You've all heard stories of the Fair Folk stealing children and leaving some sullen and cranky replacement in their crib instead? Well, this is what Rian is! No, he's not a Changeling, despite his surly temperament. He's a Stolen Child, raised by Mad Sweeney, but most likely by other Fairy sort or the other Lost.

Where's he originally from, that's not really something Mad Sweeney himself talks about nor is it anything that Rian has any recollection of. He was just a babe in swaddling when he was taken from his crib.

He's grown up to make himself both helpful to his Father Figure but also the Carnival of Wonders as a whole! He's a messenger, running about the grounds, delivering a message or package from one individuals to another. All at a little cost, of course. A tip of sorts.

He's also good at being in places where he doesn't belong or going unnoticed. This makes him out to be a great spy or look out when there's rumors of danger afoot.

Fiona O'Leary (Carnival)

Cedric's Personal Assistant
Vendor for perfumes and miracle cosmetics

It feels like an eternity since Fiona was literally swept off her feet by the handsome man who politely asked her, a young servant girl, for a dance. And dance they did all throughout the night, through the fields and the forests, dancing to a ghostly melody. At some point during the dance, she knew that she was caught in one of the Fair Folk's traps, but at the time, she didn't care.

Now, she was just one of many of his Brides, being cast aside for a newer, younger model. Fiona knows that there are ways to work off her indentured servitude to the Good Neighbors, the Kindly On-- Oh, she's not kidding anyone. She's already gained the attention of a Fairy, so there's no need to call him anything different.

But yes, she could very well work off her servitude to him and be released, in truth, however, she wants to be his one and only Bride and will do everything that she can to impress Cedric to win his attention back.

She does many things for the Carnival. She's, first and foremost, Cedric's personal assistant, but she also has her own shop for anything from perfumes, which are said to attract the opposite sex the way a love potion would, to creams that she boasts will make a woman look younger and more beautiful. If Sweeney's around, he tends to lend a glamorous hand in making this illusion possible.

Conrad Wellson (Isle of Dread)

Madison is the oldest, the princess, and she had everything handed to her. You had to work hard to stand out and get what's yours. That's why you're the idea man, the innovator, the one who's going to conquer the world. Luckily your sister likes you and has always looked out for you, which means that while she has the money, you have her ear, and she's a lot less brash and confident than you are. Sure, it always takes convincing, but you're going to make the both of you rich and famous. Not that you're poor now.

It all starts with a name, a brand, and this festival is the best way to get the spoiled, self-absorbed brats of the wealthiest one-percenters to know who you are. Show them an amazing time and they'll have Daddy funding every project you can think of. It all rides on this, and you're going to kill it. The future is now.

Rhys Driscoll (Alien Mutation)

You've done a few different things in the course of your life so far. You flew cargo hauls, you did a stint with the Marshals, and you were even briefly a PI. None of the jobs held your interest, though some paid better than others. What you learned in all of them is that the real money is in smuggling. Most smugglers have a hard time because they generally got into things early and have lived a life of crime, collecting a record. You have no record, and in fact used to be law enforcement. So you established a security company, licensed and bonded, to give you the perfect cover. Sure, you actually do security work, and your team is good at it, but the things that you can smuggle in guarding giant haulers like the Hephaestus pays so much more. You know the Marshals, how they work and what they look for, and you easily circumvente it. And on the odd occasion when you get a bit of heat, most of them have a price for looking the other way. They get bored and frustrated out in the frontier like anyone, and need the extra cash.

Cillian McTavish (Prosperity's Price)

Cillian is Seamus' ambitious middle son and the manager of the family's gambling hall. Not content with his position in the birth order, he believes that he's far more capable than his older brother, Patrick, when it comes to running the family. Like his father, he has a keen business-minded intelligence and quite the magnetic personality. In his job as both manager and sometimes dealer at the gambling hall, he's just as good with his fists as he is with a gun. Being devilishly charming, he's also one of the town's most eligible bachelors; something which he is trying to remedy. To bring in new blood, he put out an ad for a mail-order bride last year only to have her murdered before their wedding day during the Reaping. If at first you don't succeed...

Christian Price (Slasher)

Christian likes money. He loves it. Growing up in an upper-middle class family in Seattle meant he never went without it, but he always wanted more. Good grades and a college degree in Finance set him up perfectly to make plenty of it, but then the S&L scandal broke, banks tanked and his plans got derailed. Working as a bank branch manager, while not a bad living, was not how he pictured his life going.

What made it worse was watching the fat cats who broke everything come in and stash all their valuables in vault boxes. One in particular was largely responsible for ruining the life of a local cop that Christian had to turn down for a loan. He'd never seen such a strong, honest man so broken and adrift, nor had he ever seen such hatred as when that cop saw the guy that cost him everything. After the suit left, Christian commiserated with the cop and unintentionally let slip that the guy had a renaissance masterpiece rolled up in a safe deposit box. One simple comment forever changed both of their lives.

Now he's Joshua Gray, hiding out in a lodge in Nowhere, Oregon, and looking forward to a very big payday.

Mad Sweeney (Carnival)

Coming To America

There once was a mad king named... no. Wait.

The Tuatha de Danann were a noble and... no. Shit.

There once was a man from Nantucket? Ah, fuck.

What does it matter? Some Irish folk came over on a shitty boat to escape their shitty existence, or more likely to work off their debts or prison sentences, and they brought with them all their baggage. Some of that baggage was stowed away in their hearts and heads. One particularly cunning, crafty and handsome bastard was the leprechaun. This was before the damned cereal and bad horror movies, back when they weren't wee green folk with pots of gold, but instead brash, brazen and right glorious bastards who fought, fucked and filched their way into hearts and panties far and wide.

Irish people who remembered where they came from left out milk, fruit or sweets to curry their favor. That favor brought luck, good fortune, and occasionally a swift kick in the ass for those who had wronged them. But forget to thank them and they could be just as cruel to you. Not many people make offerings anymore, and fewer still say thanks, so they take what they can get. Entertaining a crowd for a laugh. Selling them a fool's treasure. Coaxing them into a bet they can't win. Fate is a fickle bitch, but a leprechaun knows where she's ticklish.

Bally of Burlesque

No leprechaun is more at home than one who is enthralling a crowd, fleecing them of their hard-earned money, and plying them with drinks and debauchery. Being the bally for the Cooch Tent has all that and more. He gets the crowds ready for the ladies - and gents! - entices them with promises of more behind the next curtain for just a bit more coin, then delivers them to the pudenda promised land. Then it's time for drinks with the crowd as they carouse and fornicate.

On a good night, he even gets into a brawl.

Constantine Thornton (Project Icarus)

Born the third child of the prestigious Thorntons, a family who had made their wealth beginning with investments into technology and mining operations, Constantine was always overshadowed by his older siblings. First of all, there was a fifteen year age gap between himself and the youngest of his older siblings. Secondly, he was the child of his father's second wife, which put him at odds with the rest.

While his father held no animosity towards Constantine, his favor still fell with his two eldest. They were the children of his cherished first wife after all - his rock and equal. His second was a young socialite who he married on the behest of one of his old friends.

Because of this, Constantine struggled to make a name for himself as his siblings held the most important positions within the company. They also made it a habit of turning their noses down to many of the ideas that he had pitched to them.

So when word got out that Penumbra was putting together a team to investigate a mysterious occurrence out in the middle of nowhere, while the board looked the other way for less risky investments, Constantine tossed his name into the hat and was selected as the Mining Mission Director, in part, because he was investing in the mission and he already came with mining expertise. He was young and mostly unproven, but he believed that he needed this. He needed a way to prove his family wrong and show him just how capable he truly was. He would return to make the Thornton name proud.

Landon Marchant (Bonds of Blood)

One half of the boys thought to be the the twin sons of Karl and Beth Lester, that turned out not to be the case. More than likely the cause of Karl and Beth's divorce when they were twelve. After Karl sued to have the Lester name removed from the boys as to not have to pay child support for them, Robert Marchant stepped up and took them under his wing, finding them 'salvageable' despite his dislike for both his own brother, Vincent, and Beth. He's been grooming Landon and Lucas ever since to live up to the Marchant name. Landon is pretty proud to be a Marchant, believing that this is where he belonged all along. He strives to be successful and to make a name for himself. The more serious of the twins, even with his white trash upbringing.

Landon is always on the lookout for opportunities to get ahead in life. He can be as crafty and ruthless as his brother for often another person's feelings are rarely ever put before his own, unless that other person were Lucas. He usually has an agenda for most things, including friendships, but on the inside, it's harder to actually gain his trust despite how friendly and warm he might pretend to be.

He despises his mother and isn't fond of either of his fathers. Something about the whole messy divorce had made him distrustful of most people, a little paranoid and has filled his sleep with vivid nightmares, turning everything he fears and despises into the things that haunt his dreams at night. It's nothing that he really talks about and if anything, Lucas is one of the few who knows about it. Landon hoped he'd grow out of it, but ever since the breakdown of their family, it continues to subconsciously bother him.
